Golf Course is now Walking Only

We have made the decision to move to be walking only for the golf course at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge at this time and going forward. This is earlier than our 2028 deadline.

We are currently walking only this season (2026) due to the lack of rain / water (started earlier this month – early July). Having players walk the golf course this month has confirmed that walking is the game of golf (not riding a golf cart).

So going forward, we are permanently a walking-only golf course. This is in alignment with our hickory | natural fairways | walking focus at the Lodge for the golf course.

If you have permanent disability, you are able to use a golf cart to play the course. Documentation from an accredited medical doctor indicating the permanent disability needs to be provided greater than 14 days ahead of one’s tee time. Documentation needs to be sent via email so we can review it, and make decision on the usage of the golf cart on the golf course. Please note, even when using a golf cart, the golf cart can only go in specific areas of the golf course and there is still walking required in certain areas of the course when playing (the golf carts are geo-fenced which keep you in the designated areas). And we reserve the right to not allow golf carts at all based upon the condition of the golf course (e.g. very dry conditions, very wet conditions, etc) so that the turf is not damaged.
