Welcome to the historic Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. A WPA-era wilderness resort at the top of the Keweenaw, with a history that dates back to 1934, and is on the state and national historic registers.
Come stay with us in our log cabins, enjoy the outdoor activities on the property and in the area, and eat a rustic worldly meal. You can also attend one of our events or plan an event at the Lodge. We focus on providing a wilderness experience that gets you closer to nature — and do not be surprised if you learn something during your experience, as we interweave educational opportunities when living the Lodge team values.
Lodging (HP)
For accommodations, the resort has 24 cabins, with 27 units (three of the cabins have 2 units in them). We have 3-bedroom and 2-bedroom cabins, with several 1-bedroom cabins, situated in the wilderness. The cabins are lined along the first hole of the golf course and the forest.
The resort sits in the wilderness in a beautiful part of the country. Our location at the top of the Keweenaw allows for individuals to enjoy many outdoor activities for all four seasons of the year. These outdoor activities include mountain biking, golfing, hiking, trail running, and disc golf in the warmer months, and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing during the snowy months. As well, provide a hub for fall color exploring and bird watching at the top of the Keweenaw. And year-round, we provide opportunities for stargazing being that we are the headquarters for the Keweenaw Dark Sky Park.
We offer a variety of goods that will remind you of your stay fun, joyous, and adventuresome — even when you are not at the lodge. We offer these items at the Lodge Life shop and online.

Welcome to International Dark Sky Week. @idadarksky #idsw #discoverthenight
As park our the week activities, we will be holding the Upper Peninsula Dark Sky Festival. Get out and discover the night.
We are looking forward to the festival activities on April 21st and 23rd, and experiencing the dark skies from Keweenaw with attendees.
Although the festival has been sold out, there are many activities that can be enjoyed in the Keweenaw as it relates to the dark skies, stars, and Northern Lights.
See our bio for the link to the festival and to our stargazing activities.
Stargazing: Northern Lights Photography Workshop, March 19, 8pm at the Lodge
Join @natebett for an educational evening that discusses camera equipment needed for photographing the night sky and the auroras, the camera settings used, and the best locations for viewing.
If this topic interests you, we look forward to you joining us for some experiential learning at the Keweenaw Dark Park.
Chasing the Northern Lights : On February 26th, there was a G3 storm that created a stunning and intriguing experience for those in the Keweenaw. KML team member, Chris Guibert, was able to capture the Auroras that night, and shares his experience and his photos in a blog post (link to the blog post can be found in our bio).
Dawg Daze: Activities scheduled and setup, the Perimeter Loop is in good shape, and the sun is shining. It is time to celebrate winter, trails, and dogs in the Keweenaw.
For more information please see our website (see link in bio).
Also, remember that this weekend is the CopperDog150. Come out and support.
We are continually working on projects at the Lodge. These projects allow us to stay fresh as a team and continue to improve and move into the future at the top of the Keweenaw. If we are successful in marrying history with the future, we will be able to live in a vibrant and progressive present. To keep people up to date on what we are doing (and what we have done), we provide information on these projects.
