The Lodge is a no judgement zone.
Somewhere between the last cell bar and the first white pine, the job of having an opinion falls away. You do not have to rate the sunset. You do not have to decide whether the trail was worth it. You can simply be somewhere.
That is what we mean by a no judgement zone. We do not ask for reviews and we do not solicit feedback. We would rather you spend your time here doing the thing you came for — to Be in Nature — and carry (mentally) a little of it home with you.
A stay here is not an assignment. Nobody needs to arrive at a verdict, rank the experience, or file a report. Just be….in nature.
If you love what we are doing, that is wonderful — tell one of the KML team members, tell your friends around a table. We would just rather it not become a review.
If this place is not for you, that is fine too. We are a niche, not a consensus, and there are many fine establishments in the Keweenaw and beyond that may suit you better.
One thing worth saying plainly: if something is actually wrong — a leak, a light, a mistake we made — please tell us while you are here. That is not judgement, that is how we fix it. What we are declining is the scoring, not the conversation. The moment an experience becomes something to be scored, you are already halfway out of it.
