Announcing the Mother’s Day Menu and Lodging Special

We only have a few more weeks until our May 9th season opening and our staff is busy with preparations for the coming season. We have been posting our changes to our Instagram and Facebook feeds, so some of you will be familiar with the work we have been doing; the carpet is new, the porches are brighter, and roofs mended. Our followers have also seen information on our May 12th Mother’s Day Buffet, which is our first big event of the year.

With all these new things happening, we think it is even more important now to remember who we are. While designing our Mother’s Day Brunch menu, we kept our history and traditions in mind while looking forward to an exciting future. Our menu this year features Upper Peninsula classics we all know and love, and these comfort foods will be accented by exciting new ingredients and cooking techniques. Our guests can look forward to:  

Mother’s Day Buffet Menu

$27 adults, $16 children 6-12, children 5 and under FREE

Included Beverages

Orange Juice, Milk (2% and Whole), Coffee, Tea

Mimosa or Bloody Mary cocktails*

Breakfast Items

Bacon

Sausage patties

Crustless Quiche (eggs, cheese, ham, mushroom, red bell pepper, parsley, onions)

Panukakku with berry sauce, peach compote, and lemon curd

Fresh fruit

Smoked fish, with cream cheese spread and crackers

Hot Entrees

Hand-carved Prime Rib served with two sauces on the side:

 Beef stock, caramelized onion, and wine

Horseradish cream sauce

Glazed Ham

Sides

Starches:

Dinner rolls and Maitre d’Hotel butter

Cornbread with jalapeno and cheese (gluten-free)

Scalloped Potatoes

Rice Pilaf (rice in chicken stock with celery, carrots and onions)

Veggies

Green Beans casserole with bacon, onions, garlic and a hint of Lemon

Steamed broccoli finished with Parmesan, butter and a hint of red pepper flakes

Salads

Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots

Dessert

Carrot and pineapple spice cake with cream cheese/sour cream frosting

Chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and glazed strawberry

*one Mimosa or Bloody Mary with purchase of adult buffet, 21 years and older only

For those who may have a longer drive up to our little corner of Michigan, or if you really want to spoil mom, we are now offering a Mother’s Day lodging and dining special. If you stay in one of our cabins or hotel rooms on the night of May 11th, you will receive up to two adult brunch vouchers, a $54 value!
