The sun is shining, the temperatures are rising, and the snow is melting (sort of), which means the Lodge reopening date of May 9th is fast approaching. As we are redecorating and freshening up after the Lodge’s 85th Keweenaw winter, we are excited to be finalizing the events we have coming up early in the summer season.
For many years, the Mother’s Day brunch at the Lodge was an exciting event that paid homage to the spectacular women who raised us. This year, with the changes we are working on at the Lodge, we want to bring this event back to honor motherhood and further our efforts in marrying the history with the future of the Lodge.
On May 12th, we will be offering two sittings, by reservation only (no walk-ins), between the hours of 10 – 11:30, then between 12 – 1:30.
While our regular menu will not be offered on the 12th, our Mother’s Day buffet will offer a variety of breakfast and lunch items, sides, and beverages. As we develop the menu, here is a sampling of the food items we are thinking about:
- Carved Prime Rib
- Glazed Ham
- Scalloped Potatoes
- Smoked fish spread and crackers
- Cold and hot vegetable dishes
- Selection of fresh bread
- Bacon and sausage
- Crustless Quiche
- Fresh fruits and compotes
- Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s
- Coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, and pop
**Any specialty beverages, beer, or wine will be charged as priced on our regular drinks menu.**
Again, due to anticipated popularity, and our desire to provide excellent service to our guests, this brunch event is by reservation only. We will be unable to accommodate walk-ins. After 2pm, the public is welcome to visit the Lodge without reservations, and have drinks and snacks with friends and family.
