Earth Hour

Every year, the group at the Earth Hour organize a countdown across the globe to celebrate Earth Hour and take one iconic action: switch off the lights.

When it hits 8:30pm your time, on the last Saturday of March, Earth Hour engages supporters in countries and territories around the world to take action to ensure a brighter future for people and the planet to work together. It is a symbol of hope for this unity between people and planet.

The effort was started in 2007 by WWF and partners as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney, Australia, to raise awareness of climate change.

Earth Hour has now gone far beyond the symbolic action of switching off. It is a catalyst for positive environmental impact.
