The Longest Day of the Year, the Summer Solstice, marks the 1-Year Anniversary for being designated an International Dark Sky Park.
We have incorporated the golf course into the dark sky park. The new scorecard provides information for how people can enjoy the golf course during the day and then enjoy the dark skies at night.
The first image, taken by Chris Guibert, shows the historic Toro tractor highlighted by the Northern Lights past month (May 20th). The other images show the golf course scorecard (designed by Gabe G).

As park our the week activities, we will be holding the Upper Peninsula Dark Sky Festival. Get out and discover the night.
We are looking forward to the festival activities on April 21st and 23rd, and experiencing the dark skies from Keweenaw with attendees.
Although the festival has been sold out, there are many activities that can be enjoyed in the Keweenaw as it relates to the dark skies, stars, and Northern Lights.

We are continually working on projects at the Lodge. These projects allow us to stay fresh as a team and continue to improve and move into the future at the top of the Keweenaw. If we are successful in marrying history with the future, we will be able to live in a vibrant and progressive present.
