Pickleball

Michigan’s northern most pickleball court.

After the Lodge and golf course was built in 1933-1934 the Keweenaw County Road Commission worked with the Works Progress Administration to increase recreational opportunities on the property. Throughout the late 1930s a tennis court, a shuffleboard court, a barn for saddle horses and a concrete platform for bear feeding were all constructed during this time. The tennis court is the only surviving structure and now it is used exclusively as a pickleball court.

The rustic court is available to use throughout the day and operates on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is no cost to use the court, however all players must sign the pickle ball waiver.
