Weather

The weather in the Keweenaw is unique due to the landmass (being a peninsula) and the lake effect. That is one of the reasons why the Keweenaw receives are larger amount of snow than the rest of Michigan (on average of 250-280 inches). As well, the weather in the lower portion of the Keweenaw (e.g. Houghton, Hancock, Calumet — 30-45 miles from the Lodge) can be different than the top of the Keweenaw (Copper Harbor).
