Update Cabin Interior Design

The cabins at the Lodge were built between 1934 and 1935 as part of the WPA / CCC projects setup during the Great Depression by the FDR administration*.

Over the years, various interior changes have been made (e.g. interior siding), and different furniture has been replaced in them. The last time the sofas and soft chairs had been replaced was circa 2005. And the mattresses were last changed in 2015.

We are now working with an interior designer to freshen up the cabins, but stick with the WPA-era wilderness character that the historic wilderness resort is known for. With this update, we are working to marry history with the future to end up at a vibrant and progressive present in the look and feel of the interiors of the cabins.

We have done one-off additions over the past 2-3 years with the hanging of the wood prints and replacing the coffee tables and floor lamps in the living room. Now we are looking to look at the updates in a wholistic fashion and update all the cabins interiors.

* Two of the cabins have burned down, and been rebuilt (cabins 6 and 22) — but not exactly the same design and character (e.g. used faux logs on the outside).
