Yesterday evening we had our final photo workshop of 2024. Nate Bett led the workshop, with 11 attendees. 9 of the attendees were cabin guests, and walked up the hill to the Lodge to attend at 7pm, with 2 attendees driving in from Chicago.
We had seen a warm-up if temperatures the previous 2 days, and the snow was melting. This made it slippery to walk around the property (icy), but also led to foggy water. This limited the stargazing — the sky was still dark, as we have little light pollution at the top of the Keweenaw (and we are in our Lights Out! week, where we turn off outside lights around the property at night).
That said, the two hours spent with Nate from 7-9pm was engaging for the attendees. Attendees were able to ask Nate questions about the Northern Lights, and learn more about their cameras — including taking pictures on their mobile phones.
With it being overcast, the group did not spend time outside taking pictures — but stayed inside to ask Nate questions after his lecture.
Below are pictures from the workshop.
