Sustainable Tourism

When we think about sustainable tourism, we look at it through the lens of nature.

This includes understanding the optimum number of visitors to the Lodge and the natural areas surrounding the Lodge.

Along with having an optimum number of visitors, it entails these one’s behavior when in the area. More specifically,

  • Be a responsible traveler: Respect the culture and customs of the local businesses and communities
  • Educate yourself: Learn about the natural and cultural history of the area you are visiting
  • Leave no trace: Pack out everything you pack in, and leave the natural environment as you found it
  • Respect wildlife: Observe wildlife from a distance and do not disturb them.
  • Stay on trails: Trails help to protect the natural environment and prevent erosion
  • Be mindful of noise: Keep your voice down and avoid making loud noises
  • Be mindful of light pollution and trespassing
  • Be mindful of your carbon footprint
  • Valuing the services and products of the businesses in the region by purchasing their products and services
  • Pay it forward
