Whether a corporate retreat, wedding or educational outreach event, the  Events & Education Lead handles all logistics of the event and acts as the main point of contact for all issues related to the event. As the primary event planning lead for the Lodge, the lead will shepherd an event from formative plans with the guest, to the booking of the event, and arranges the logistics of creating and hosting the event.

Responsibilities and activities performed

  • Arranging events while following all company and safety standards
  • Creating an agreement and budget with the client
  • Proactively seeking event opportunities 
  • Communicating all budget, space, and vendor progress with the clients, and other Lodge departments (Food & Beverage, Facilities, etc.)
  • Positively processing any problems that arise in an upfront manner with the client
  • Maintaining consistent communication with any outside vendors contracted for the event
  • Welcoming all guests and address all needs
  • Preparing and executing a detailed outline of the event needs
  • Arranging meeting space, lodging for guests, food and drink, music, visuals, and any other needs the client has
  • Breaking down and cleaning the event space(s) once the event has drawn to a close

Qualifications 

  • Excellent written skills including experience writing marketing or public relations text
  • Computer literacy with preference to the Google Suite 
  • Educational or presentation experience in K-12, higher education, or other educational settings
  • Strong interpersonal skills including experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse network of individuals and organizations
  • Evolved and digitally focused organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks, especially over a long time period
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to continually learn
  • Daily focus on customer service skills

Timing

This position starts immediately and is a  year-round position.
