Snow Shoeing at the Lodge
We have a loop trail for guests to snowshoe on the Lodge property, which measures approximately 2 miles. The trail is conveniently located right outside the cabins and is a mix of wooded terrain and open spaces that skirt the golf course, and under the rocky outcrops on the back of the property. You can bring your own snowshoes, or rent a pair at the Lodge. In addition, we also have Altai Hok skis for rent, which allow you to carve your own trail. A blend of snowshoes and cross country skis, these skis have skins that climb with ease and will glide down hills as you explore the back country. The short, wide design makes them incredibly maneuverable, ideal for exploring un-groomed terrain.
Cross-Country Skiing at the Lodge
During the winter season the Keweenaw is blanketed with over 200 inches of snow each year. The Keweenaw Mountain Lodge welcomes each snowfall as an opportunity for adventure. We have 10 km of groomed, classic cross country ski trails. These trails are conveniently located right outside the cabins and are a mix of wooded terrain and open spaces. With multiple loop options you can head out for a quick ski or combine the loops for a longer day. Please bring your classic gear with you or ask our staff where xc skis can be rented. If you are looking to explore the fresh snow off of the groomed trails we have Altai Hok Skis for rent, with a partial climbing skin integrated into the base, this ski climbs with ease and the ski’s short, wide design makes it incredibly maneuverable, ideal for thick woods and variable terrain.
