Chris Guibert

Hello Adventurers! Chris Guibert here – your in-house mountain bike fanatic.  I have a strong passion for all things outdoors. As the Lead of Outdoor Activities at the Mountain Lodge I want make sure you and your family have a great experience while staying and playing. I have a strong knowledge of the Copper Harbor Trail System and the local area so please feel free to ask me any questions about the trails, regional activities and local secrets.

I purchased my first mountain bike in 1988 while studying at the University of Arizona and like a kid in a candy store, mountain biking became the focus of my life.I worked in bike shops and then started a guide service, Arizona Off-Road Adventures, that offered day and week-long tours around the state of Arizona. The pinnacle of my guiding career was to lead a seventy five day tour down the Continental Divide Mountain Biking Route in 1998. In 2002 I received a degree in Professional Photography from Colorado Mountain College. Since then I have worked as a freelance photographer across the country. My work can be viewed at chrisguibert.com.

Amy Oestreich

Greetings friends of the wilderness! My name is Amy and I work in the Outdoor Activities Center. At an early age I felt a deep and nurturing connection to nature, and wanted to explore and share this with others. This led me to receiving my Bachelors of Science in Recreation and Tourism, with a minor in Environmental Studies, from the University of Florida in 1998.

Fast forward through a career of being an interpretive Park Ranger and then a Wilderness Firefighter in various beautiful locations; I found myself drawn to new adventures in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Planting roots, I discovered that being a property manager and owner of vacation rentals has facilitated my desire and ability to be adventurous; and then share my local knowledge with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.  At the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, I am now able to engage my love for the wilderness into interpretive guiding and assisting visitors with enjoying all the recreational opportunities, this place I call home, has to offer.

Jenn Reed

Hi! I'm Jennette, I was born and raised in Washington state and have lived in the Keweenaw since 2016 with my husband, dogs, chickens, and fish. At the KML I work on special projects, with a focus on fostering our sustainability practices around the lodge property and at the top of the Keweenaw.

When I am not at the lodge I am busy working as a vegetable farmer at Minnie Farms in Lake Linden, which I own and operate with my husband, Dustin Reed, who is a full-time farmer. I also plan and coordinate community events, like the freestyle snowboard event "Jibba Jabba" that attracted a crowd of 7000+ spectators to downtown Houghton. When I am not working I am most likely on my snowboard, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, biking or exploring the outdoors in some other way.

I am excited to be a member of the KML team, and look forward to each day to see what we will be able to accomplish together!
